Irlam were formed in 1969 as Mitchell Shackleton which was an engineering company in Patricroft. They have used their current name since 2006.
This is the first competitive meeting, although the sides have met 3 times in friendlies at Silver Street. FCUM won 3-1 in 2010 and 3-0 in 2018, with Irlam winning 2-1 in 2009.
Jordan Buckley scored 8 goals for Irlam and 3 for FCUM in 2019-20 before moving to Warrington Town in January.
Irlam reached the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Cup in 2019-20 before losing at home to National League North side York City live on TV in front of 798.
Trafford are at home to Droylsden in the other Semi-Final.
FCUM won this trophy in 2017 and 2018. Irlam have never won it, but Irlam Town, who folded in 1995, won it in 1985.
FCUM have won 4 of 5 previous Cup Semi-Finals, and including Play-Offs, 8 of 10 Semi-Finals.
