DIRECTIONS TO BARROW AFC
For information on travelling to the ground click here
M6 ROAD CLOSURES WEEKEND OF 10 JANUARY 2020
The M6 will be closed in both directions between Broughton Interchange at junction 32 and Galgate at junction 33 from 9pm, Friday 10 January to 5am, Monday 13 January. This is due to Highways England removing Nan’s Nook Bridge, as parts of it are too low for some modern vehicles, and has only remained open with hard shoulder restrictions beneath it.
The bridge will be demolished over the weekend subject to weather conditions – should conditions prove unsuitable, then work will begin the weekend after. The closure may end earlier if the work progresses ahead of schedule
There will be a clearly signed diversion in place directing drivers to use the A6 between junction 1 of the M55 and junction 33 of the M6 at Galgate. click here
Drivers are advised to check traffic conditions before setting out on journeys and use alternative routes if possible.

Some info on pubs from Dave Leitch of the Barrow Supporters trust
Just across the road from Barrow station is the Duke of Edinburgh hotel in Abbey Road and just a short way along from there on the same side of the road is the Furness Railway which is the Wetherspoons. Follow Abbey Road a bit further down to the roundabout and turn right into Duke Street where the Ambrose is a popular pub to visit. There is also the Social Club (the Crossbar) at the ground.
For fish & chips, there’s Matties in Ainslie Street not far from the ground or the f&c shop in Bath Street which is off Abbey Road on the right as you head towards the roundabout (see above). The football club also do a variety of pies (including meat & potato) inside the ground.

The sides have met once previously, when the Reds won an FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round tie 1-0 at Gigg Lane in October 2010.
This is the second time FCUM have reached the Second Round. In 2015 they drew 3-3 at then National League side Chorley before winning the replay 1-0 at the Tameside Stadium.
Attacking midfielder John Rooney is the youngest brother of former Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney.
FCUM are unbeaten in their last 14 away games in all competitions and have won all 5 cup ties on the road.
The Bluebirds are unbeaten in their last 13 games in League and Cup.
The Reds have played once before in Barrow, beating Holker Old Boys 2-0 at Craven Park in December 2005 watched by 2303.
Tunde Owolabi has scored 5 goals in 4 FA Trophy ties. Both sides are leading scorers in their divisions. Barrow are the top scorers of all the clubs in the top 5 tiers of English football.
The last National League opposition FCUM have faced was in February 2015 when the Reds lost 0-1 at Torquay United in the Quarter Finals.
